So, about 4 months ago, I was in a terrible car accident. I had just planted out my garden a few weeks prior, and brought the plants from my greenhouse outside. As we haven't lived here for that long, I did not have an automatic watering solution setup. I had been hand watering from my rain barrels & from the creek that runs nearby. The accident left my left leg broken and me unable to get down to the garden and greenhouse. My family took care of our chickens, but pretty much everything else was left to do it's own thing, mother nature style. I have recently begun to walk again, and my husband was kind enough to get an automatic watering system setup for the area.
Now I get to begin the complicated task of cleaning it all up and getting it ready for winter.
I wanted to show off the current state of affairs, so that I can see progress as I make it.

Cleanup on isle 1! My Joe Pyweed is looking pretty dead now, I hope he gave the butterflies some loving while he was good. My repurposed feed bag carriers should be put away properly and I need to make sure my greenhouse rain system runs into the rain barrels as it doesn't seem to.

This is my dog Cora. She's here because she wanted her picture taken. :)
What a mess! This is supposed to be my compost pile made from discarded pallets. However, I had my accident before I could finish making them, and so it just sits there... looking dirty... ugh...
.
Here is one of my 8 4x4 beds. This one still has tomatoes growing, but it needs a good cleaning out.

This is my other dog, Jyn. She came over to see what her sister was doing.
More 4x4 beds. This one has a tomato plant, and the valerian still seems to be doing well.
One of my larger (taller) beds, of which I have two. This one still has some celery and some eggplants that are still growing.
A side view of my chicken coop and run. This was a family project, we all built it from scratch. There are 8 laying hens that call this home.
Hm.. Lots of tomato plants, but no tomatoes.
Long view of my greenhouse, 8 4x4 beds, my herb spiral (with nothing in it) and my pean tee-pee (also with nothing growing).

Inside view of my dirty greenhouse. We have this gorgeous porch surrounding our house, but my pothos and wandering dudes won't survive the winter, so I put them in the greenhouse today for safe keeping until spring. These 4x4 beds have to get cleaned up so that I can plant out some winter veggies and cleanup the rest of the greenhouse for spinach and chard!
